Durham is known as the "Bull City" and the "City of Medicine". Durham is home to Duke University, ranked ninth in the nation’s best universities and Duke University Hospital, considered one of the world’s best health care providers. The university also holds the beautiful Duke Gardens, known for its gorgeous landscaping and stunning grounds.

Research Triangle Park houses more than 170 major research companies, employing 39,000 full-time employees and 10,000 contract workers.

With the ACC and NCAA tournaments in the spring, March Madness is a huge deal around here! With the strong Duke and UNC rivalry, fans of college basketball won’t be let down.

The Durham Bulls are a Triple-A minor league baseball team and well known from the movie Bull Durham in which they were based on. The ballpark is close to the American Tobacco Historic District where visitors can find great restaurants and exhibits.

The Durham Performing Arts Center, also within walking distance of the stadium, holds plays and concerts throughout the year including Broadway shows. The Museum of Life and Science has hands-on exhibits, a butterfly house and wildlife habitats.
